About Lion
Lion is the seventh operating system (10.7) that challenges the best way of doing things. Lion has over 3000 new APls covering a range of new capabilities. Lion is also much faster then Snow Leopard.
How to tell if you have Lion
To tell if you have lion or not, like snow leopard, go to the Apple sign on the top-left corner of your screen, and then click on 'about this mac'. You should see the words and numbers: Version 10.7.2.
Extra Features
A few extra apps are launchpad and mission control. There are extra features too, like when you update your OS to OSX Lion, your app buttons will become smaller and in documents there is an autosave function, that way you don't have to save it yourself anymore. As you can see, Lion has quite a lot of extra functions and apps, but some people might prefer Snow Leopard, since Lion is a bit like Snow Leopard but it deleted some actions you can do in Snow Leopard. Most prefer Lion, though, because it's still faster than Snow Leopard [1].
