An Apple computer probably intended for home, school, and small offices, and promoted by Apple as an easy-to-use, stylish computer that outperforms other low-cost options. The computer comes equipped with a 500, 600 or 700MHz G3 processor, 32 MB SDRAM, 4GB hard disk drive, a 56K modem, and a USB, which allows a user to add devices without restarting the computer. IMac's are quite big and are getting bigger as we speak, the biggest IMac so far is 27inches.

History

The IMac's internal components
The IMac originated from the Macintosh computer series made by Apple. inc. The IMac started off as a half-transparent bulky CRT screen with a "hockey puck" mouse and quite-standard keyboard linked to the main machine, a surprisingly ordinary cuboid laid flat. It shared no similarities with the aluminum unibody IMacs today, if you take a look at them both. The IMac advanced quite quickly though: the IMac G4, the first IMac to have a LCD screen, appeared 4 years after the first IMac appeared.[1]
