LEARNING SUPPORT PROGRAMME:
We appreciate that each of our students have their own unique strengths and challenges. Our comprehensive educational and pastoral support programme is designed to assist the academic and social development of our students.
Our Learning Support Coordinator is responsible for the diagnostic assessment and coordination of the Learning Support Programmes. These programmes are designed to meet the individual requirements of students who have specific learning difficulties (such as English language assistance), as well as those who are performing at an exceptional level.
These individual programmes are developed in consultation with students, parents and teachers, and additional educational specialists may also be consulted where appropriate. In certain circumstances, parents may be requested to pay for extra individual tuition or extra teacher assistance.
Any above charges and agreements will be clearly outlined to parents.
PASTORAL SUPPORT PROGRAMME:
Each member of staff is responsible for the students’ personal, social and emotional development. However, there are certain members of staff for whom this is a specific responsibility.
Each student will be assigned a Form Tutor with whom they meet every day during registration. The Form Tutor assists the students with organisational skills as well as dealing with any non-academic issues. Form tutors meet with students to review academic and social targets and are available to discuss any matters of concern with parents.
Our Coordinator for Guidance and Achievement is responsible for the development of the Personal, Social and Heath Education programme throughout the school. He/she may also be called upon to discuss matters with students or parents of a pastoral nature. The coordinator can also refer families to specialist counselors.
