“Education is not about taking the best students and making them better. It’s about enabling each and every student to realize their potential.” Roy White

We hope that you too feel inspired by the opportunities offered by our College. Each donation will make an invaluable investment in our students as well as to the surrounding area and community.

Your financial gift would:

  • Invest in the education of our future generations
  • Support the successful development of Hong Kong’s Northern New Territories
  • Be tax deductible

Help us to build the future of our school

We are a non-profit making organization and have tried to keep school fees as affordable as possible. However, to achieve the ambitious goals we have, we need to develop new sources of revenue besides tuition fees.

Our Key projects!

a) ICHK Sports & Recreation Field

ICHK is fortunate to have a large open area immediately opposite the Campus and we have been in discussions with the owner about buying or long-term leasing this land.

Current estimates put the start-up cost of leasing and building a full-size astroturf sports field and pavilion at close to HK$1,500,000. The on-going running costs will be covered by your school fees, so we will not be seeking additional financial support.

b) ICHK Green Bus

An idea that has been proposed by our students is to seek funding for a “Green” bus to be used for student off-site activities. We have been looking at various suppliers and our current estimates are in the region of HK$600,000. If you know of any suppliers we would be very interested in hearing from you.

c) Innovation and Creativity

“The most successful schools and companies are the ones who … design compelling experiences…” (Kelly, 2008)

As Hong Kong begins to build its reputation as an artistic and cultural hub, and while it endeavours to promote creativity and innovation, ICHK recognizes that schools must play a leading part.

We support Tom Kelly’s, assertion in ‘The Ten Faces of Innovation’, that students can be taught to be creative. The process requires schools to offer their students both the necessary scaffolds and the richest of experiences.

Our curriculum, focused on an inquiry-based model of learning,  and infused with with thinking strategies such as De Bono’s CORT and ‘Six Thinking Hats’ provides some of these essential scaffolds.

Our Creativity, Action and Service Programme which includes a wide range of activities such as Model United Nations,  Service Learning, Junior Achievement, HKAYP, Rugby and more – provides a fertile ground for the compelling experiences that will stay with our students for the rest of their lives.

You can help us by supporting the purchase of items to enhance our developing reputation for excellence in the performing arts ($500K for lighting and sound equipment, and staging) or in the purchase of a laser cutter ($200K).

Everybody can give

Gifts can be made by individuals, groups and corporate bodies. To meet everybody’s needs, we have developed different packages:

(1) Naming opportunities:

You can choose from a wide range of projects and make a direct impact on areas of ICHK that you believe should be especially developed or you might be particularly interested in.

(2) Scholarship programme:

Strong community commitment is one of the most important values carried out by ICHK. Your donation will help in funding ICHK’s scholarship programmes that will give a chance for talented, hardworking children to enter our school, overcoming the obstacles of limited financial resources.

(3) Alumni, staff and student donation:

As a student or an alumni of HLYIS, JIS or KIS you might be willing to give back to the school or to be part of school development. You can choose to have your name plate in a book in the learning resource centre/library, in a subject area of your choice, and thereby leave a mark of your support.

(4) Sponsorship:

As a sponsor of the school you can build long-term relationships, get marketing exposure and benefit from ICHK on site facilities. This package is dedicated to corporate entities within the New Territories who may wish to sponsor equipment and facilities in the school such as specialist theatre lighting, IT hardware, special needs education.

Corporate debentures will also be available for companies who wish to gain more security of places in the College for their clients and employees.

(5) Giving your Time via the ICHK Fundraising Committee

This committee will look at a number of funding avenues, including government grants, corporate sponsorship and organising events at the school. We are fortunate to have some skilled and committed parents on this Committee, but they really need the support of the whole ICHK Parent Community.

We would like to ask, therefore, for any parents that have fundraising or event management skills, or simply have the drive and passion to help, to contact Hans Lombardo and Lowell Tin via the following email address: fundraising@ichk.edu.hk.

(6) Giving your Time as a Guest Speaker

We are always looking for individuals who can contribute their talents and experiences to our students. Teamwork, problem solving, leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility are always topical.

How sponsorship will help you… and our students to learn.

Any amount would be greatly welcomed. We will acknowledge all donations in the typical ways:  plaques, newsletters, and on our website. And as we are a non-profit organization your donations should be tax deductable. However, we will offer more.

ICHK students will also write articles and create a short film explaining how your help has had an impact on their lives.  These articles/films could then be used in your own promotional materials and websites. Thus, your donation will be an opportunity for our students to develop as critical and creative thinkers and as leaders.  As we also wish our students to develop as problem solvers, it may be possible for them to help you to problem solve or to seek their comments on appropriate products and   services!  Our students have already won awards for their creative writing and have assisted the Hong Kong Refugee Centre make such a short film.
