ICHK is a community school where we expect students, teachers and parents to take pride in our school, and to be involved in its current and future development.
Parent Community & Committees
We greatly appreciate the help and assistance of our parents. We have parents working in the library and as Teaching Assistants as well as members of the Board of Governors and School Management Committees.
We encourage parents to get involved in these committees and other aspects of our school community, including offering their knowledge and experience as guest speakers.
Student Voice
As an international school it is essential that we empower all stakeholders to voice their opinions and take action for our future development. We strive to use the ideas and creativity of the entire community to enhance our school.
The Student Representative Council (SRC) comprises 12 students, elected from our student body by their peers. This Council discusses school issues individually and participates in various school committees.
Through these experiences, students begin to understand that their actions can make a difference and develop as critical and creative thinkers, problem solvers and future leaders.
Communicating with Parents
Maintaining an open line of communication between our teachers, administrators, students and parents is essential for the smooth running of the school and we encourage parents to contact us with any issues or suggestions.
Our Student Organiser, which is distributed at the beginning of the year, contains essential information for students and parents. The Organiser encourages students to set targets and review their progress, and offers an easy means of communication between the teacher, student and parents.
To reduce the use of paper, teachers make regular use of email for sharing information with parents. Staff profiles and email addresses can be viewed online.
In addition, every Friday during term-time, we send a Weekly Bulletin covering a range of issues related to your child’s education. We also email letters on other issues or activities as they arise.
There are also social events and Parents Evenings which allow parents, students and teachers to exchange ideas related to school improvement and the development of our students.
